25th September 2004
Enfield District Scout Fishing Competition 25th September 2005.

The LAC like to encourage junior fishing and will provide free bookings to genuine local organisations. So on the 25th the Scouts pitched their skills against the Lee Navigation which can be a formidable task. I can remember being told in my junior days as an angler that if you learn to fish the Lee you will be able to catch on most other waters.

4th August 2004
LAC OAP & Disabled Anglers Match

64 anglers took part in this annual match which is open to all comers and not just LAC members. The headquarters were made available to us by the Royal Small Arms AS and the match length was from Rammey Marsh downstream. The weather was a little warm but it did not rain. Top weight of 7.12.00, including a bream of 5.07.08 lbs, was recorded by Albert Shimmen of GPCAS. Albert fishing the waggler from one of the boom pegs took the winners shield, heaviest fish cup and a waggler rod. In second place fishing past the boom area was Phillip Batty with 6.12.00 which included a 4.00.00 bream. Phillip had the misfortune to tumble out of his wheelchair before the match started but overcame a few bruises to take bream on the feeder and win him a fishing trolley. Third and next peg to the winner was Dave Boon with 6.09.08 who had a bream of 4.05.08. Dave took home a new keepnet. Fourth was Brian Thurley with 4.02.08 which included a fine 2.02.00 perch.Top lady was Grace Tant of Royal Small Arms A.S. with 4.01.08 of skimmer bream. Grace took the Ladies Cup and a Boots voucher. Packed lunches were distributed along the bank and there were plenty of prizes to be won for the first three in each of the 6 sections. Thanks RSA A.S. for hosting the event in their club house, all the helpers ferrying anglers and tackle along the bank and those who donated to the event.
